80 Satpol PP Trucks Loaded with Street Vendors’ Goods

The operation held simultaneously in five municipalities since Sunday (7/27), in which street vendors’ stalls are demolished, ended yesterday, Friday (8/1). As a result, 80 trucks are loaded with the remnants of the stalls and other goods which then brought to Satpol PP warehouse in Cakung, East Jakarta.
In total there are 80 trucks transporting goods belonged to the street vendors, such as tents, wood, tables, etc.
Head of Jakarta Satpol PP, Kukuh Hadi Santoso, told that the goods confiscated consist of tents, wood, and tables. As many as 3,000 Satpol PP personnel were deployed in this operation, with an addition of 50 personnel put on standby in every sub-district in five municipalities.
“In total there are 80 trucks transporting goods belonged to the street vendors, such as tents, wood, tables, etc. To transport those goods, we’re also getting help from Jakarta Cleanliness Department,” he stated, Saturday (8/2).

“I instructed all of my men that by the time Jakartans go for homecoming, Satpol PP must stay and take care of the city,” he said.
In addition, Santoso promised that Satpol PP will be consistent in controlling the capital city from the activities of illegal street vendors. According to him, it is in line with Vice Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama’s instruction to arrange Jakarta into a better city and more humane.
